The Class of 2020 received their Chromebooks this past Friday.  Our Director of Technology, Paul Barrette, provided a brief training for the students as well.  I would like to thank Mr. Barrette, Mike Rush, JoAnn Robitaille, Allyson Angell, Lori Larrivee, and Luigia Solda for all of their assistance prepping and distributing Chromebooks to our students.

If your child did not pick up their Chromebook it was because they did not have the signature sign-off page.  You may find this document on our website.

Weekly Update 9/2/16

SHS Faculty PD

What a great opening week of school! We are blessed to have awesome students and fantastic teachers and staff.  Great work Sentinels!  #shsculturematters

I would like to thank the SHS staff for a great opening week and a great PD day.  We tried a new grouping strategy with the staff.  They were given a song.  They had to hum the song while looking for others humming the same song.  A fun way to start the day.  Check out the clip.

A BIG thank you to the RI National Guard for supporting Smithfield teachers.  The RI Guard provided coffee and water for the entire district prior to the opening of the PD day.  They also provided lunch for the high school staff.  We appreciate all you do for our communities!

The SHS Student Council decorated the front of the building and welcomed back our students with music and high fives.  This is a great group and I look forward to working with them this year.

One more thank you...Our maintenance and custodial staff did a great job getting the building ready for the first day of school.  Our maintenance staff installed new white boards for the world language, business and math departments this summer.

Please take a moment to check out the District Annual Report.

If you need a good laugh check out Mr. Lenore's latest video, Lenore Scissorhands

Just a reminder, SHS is using Remind to assist with communication.  You will find more information and login info here.

The SHS Football team will begin their title defense on Friday, September 9th at 7 pm at home.  Check out for all the fall sport schedules.
